Over the course of my growing this season, I have to conclude that my 950 will not be the plant. I am 50 days from germination and my vine is just over 2 ft.

I have a backup 369 Houser in a 5 gallon pot that I was going to use for pollination. It has been in the pot for those 50 days also. However recently I found with some fertilizer, the 369 decided to take off and grow well (no ferts ever used before).

I am at my wits end with the 950 not growing and wanted input on how "damaged" the 369 would be if I transplanted it in the patch now? would it be too stunted to recover and produce anything? Remember I doubt this is the year for me and 500 lb, but folks, down here even 200 lb would be looked at in awe.

The alternative is to start over. I see an issue with this in that by the time I am able to pollinate, the heat will be here and all those issues would be present. Hence why I was starting as early as I did.

Full story when I update my diary in the meantime, what do you think?

Well Ben, I think you should stay with the Boyton. It could be that your lacking something in the soil and if you do restart the same thing will happen. If your vine is at two feet it should start taking off. I hope this is the case. Stick with it sometimes late bloomers are the ones that do well. Good Luck, Jeff

Transplant that 369 now in the opposite end of the patch and grow it towards the 950....you will know how it fares soon enough and buy some time for the 950 at the same time....make the call when the two plants reach each other.

Thanks for the input. I really like the idea of keeping both and I will do that starting tonight.

Jeff, there is no doubt I would like to keep my 950. Lets see what happens with both in the patch.

Ben - What have the day time & night time temps been?

Has it still been unseasonably cold and rainy down there in the Southwest?

Check in with "Duster" You and Jimmy would have about similar results if it has been cold & wet.
