Cant say that I know how to grow them, but I made an effort over the Winter. Northern Giant cabbage. Were doing pretty well with plenty of water, but then I dropped my guard and a swarm of snails were able to breach the perimeter. Maybe next year....

I wasnt able to find any info on growing techniques or even basic requirements. Just planted and kept them moist. I still have seeds though, so if you find something, post it up please.
Glen- No I didnt try the copper. I wasnt having any problems keeping the yard free of snails with just the poison pellets. More than normal rainfall combined with my laziness, and they moved back in :) Thanks for the suggestion though. Maybe I'll try that next time, just for some added insurance.

Phil Hunt is the person that knows about these cabbages. He has had some 40+ pounders...My question is why is he holding out on the Seed Exchange. :)

Shannon, I wish the cabbages would grow long enough to produce seeds. Our cold winters are too hard on them. My last cabbage is still in the garden under the snow. I left it as long as I could to try and get seeds, but it's looks like it will just turn to mush. If I ever get some seeds from my cabbages, I'll be more than happy to share them. I got my seeds from a grower in the UK. Last year I grew the flatpoll variety and got a 44 & 42.5 #er. If you want some watermelon seeds I can help you out with them. If you need some info on "How to grow them", send me an email and I'll pass on some instructions. They are too long to type onto this thread. Hope this helps.

Just giving you a hard time Phil....Next Fall if you have a big one after the ground is frozen. Cover the Cabbage with a mound of straw. I have some flatpoll started so hopefully I will have some also.
