This will be my 3rd year growing giant pumpkins. First year 140#, second year 453#, so what will this year bring. I havent selected my seed yet, I received some seeds from Kirk Mombert and Geneva Emmons last year. Their generosity was overwhelming. I planted 5 seeds, ended up with 7 pumpkins but only two survived. The others had bad gas and exploded, yuk. I visited the Allardt Contest and the winner was over 850#, perhaps this year I could challenge. Just wanted to add my two cents and get back in the groove.

My first year I grew 726.5#, Last year I fought with a major gout attack(A form of arthritis) all year! I lost 3 AG's and ended up losing the 4th the day before our weighoff taping at 465# I just couldn't carefor them!!! This year I'm more gong ho than ever I'm tied with the SNGPGA that i can't say enough about, growers helping growers is the cats meow!!!
So all I can say is .....Grow- Um - Big!!!!!
