I bought a Craftsman 5 hp tiller yesterday. Looks like I am getting serious about pumpkins already! Never mind planting the seeds. I can't wait to till the garden. hahaha Almost all of the snow is gone now and soil is very muddy.

I bought a troybilt 5.5 hp rear tine tiller last spring, what a difference compared to my 3 hp front tine. I tilled a new patch 30 x 35 and extended my original patch, works great. In reply to rootbeermaker hope your craftman 5 hp works as good as mine. I have at least 3 feet of snow in my garden and more on the way, I'm from Canada eh!!it will be a while before my tiller gets put to work. Best of luck this growing season!!!!

Timm, thanks for the wishes. Mine is a front tine tiller. I know the rear tine tillers are better but I didn't have the money for the better one. I had to buy one. My garden this year is about 15 x 25 not counting the pumpkin patch and no matter how I tried to get the kids enthused about digging the garden, they are still kids. Snow is almost gone here and I wish you as much luck getting rid of that 3 feet of snow as I wish you luck with this year's garden, especially the pumpkins.

I like my 6.5hp Craftman I picked up last year, 250$ and it was only a year old (599$ new) its a rear tine with with both reverse AND forward rotation for the tines.

Rancher how is it running? I guess that you still like it. And that is a good price for that tiller. I was looking at one in Sears when I bought mine but I did know that it was a little out of my price range right now so I had to make do with the best that I could. Good luck growing them this year.
