Hey pumpkin fanatics, i need some help despratly, i got two pumpkins on one plant one on main vine and one on secondary vine, somehow both are really close to eachother about a foot away, and they are not growing very fast anymore im really thinking of culling them one of them has a small hole where i think a squash vine borer has entered and then the other one seems to have a small crack on the stem and is almost hitting my biggest pumpkin right next to it, any suggestions would be kind, thanks ~Bill

I'm only a third year grower but this sounds like one of those things where you just have to go with your gut instinct. I would not worry about which one is bigger, which one do you think has the worse problem. I'm not real familiar with SVB problems but I have had some stem cracks and if their not very bad they can be pasted with Captan. I guess the one with the Borer problem would depend on where the damage is. Tell us more.
