Hi I have been growing pumpkins for a few years and decided to try growing some giants. The largest I have grown so far was a 299 pounder. Can someone give me some advice as to what variety is the best? I am willing to pay for some seeds and will also trade some of mine. Thanks.

I think you'll find the folks here very friendly. I have yet to grow a single giant pumpkin and have already been sent a whole ton of free seeds. There's hardly a need to buy seeds unless you are going to get real serious, real fast.

Crammed is right, the people here are so friendly and they are very knowlegeable. There may be a couple of things that these giant pumpkin growers do differently but almost all of what they do and say appears to be proven fact that will help. They are also willing to experement with some new ideas. Some work better than others (not every experement is perfect) and they are willing to share all their knowledge and expetise with everyone else. This is the first site that I visited last year when we decided to attempt to grow giant pumpkins. Best garden decision I ever made.
