I entered "spga" into google. only got bigpumpkins.
I dont know much about webpages,,i think its called a ",,meta tag",,.
A friend of mine hides in his webpage/s background(s),,
a zilloin "key words",,tags.
lol,,lots for drugs,sex/love,&rocknroll!!

I've tried to get Google to list our webpage to with no luck so far. Just have to keep at them I guess.

Meta tags are seldomly used by search engines now a days..for that particular reason (abuse). The important thing is to use as many keywords and phrases on your website. It can't hurt to use meta tags, as some search engines still rely on them to find sites, but others like google I believe no longer uses them. Instead they use crawlers that actually crawl your site and links to compile info. Once your listed on one, the others will soon be there!
Hint: build a big (relevant)links page to get on google!
Oh ya, adds by google will almost definately bring the crawlers.

A meta description tag is used by a few search engines but from what I've read, the spiders no longer use keywords to place your site. Like shiznit said, there are a ton of free sites out there that let you submit your URL to just about every search engine out there. Once the spiders find you, the'll keep coming back. Be sure to include a "robots.txt" file to in your main directory to tell them where they can and can't go so keep them from using excessive bandwidth!

http://www.alexa.com/ has some good info. I do not suggest the toolbar for privacy reasons. Yahoo is the search king followed by MSN. MSN has a new search engine and no longer takes a feed from Google. On MSN if you type in "how to grow giant pumpkins" you will get relevant results. This is a new search engine feature. It usually takes months before listings appear after free submission to Yahoo, Google etc. You can pay $295. for priority service on Yahoo. Smashing pumpkins and pumpkin seeds are the two most common search terms relative to pumpkins. On overture.com within minutes you can be top listed on Yahoo, MSN and many others for 10 cents or so per click for terms like big pumpkins, pumpkin seeds, giant pumpkins etc. Links to your site and links from your site to relevant data and relevant content on the site are big and in most cases cost zippo. I only know enough to get me in trouble. Hidden meta tags, spam text is a sure fire way to get eventually black listed.
