how do so many growers have so many super hot seeds all the time?:) hehehe 845, 846, 712, 898, 801's. I am amazed, maybe jealous since I never have had one with lots of seed trading. Jimmy

I scratch my head and wonder about that as well...

Anyway, I tend to go with promising seeds from the previous
season. My line-up so far is listed on my site:

See the 2005 Preseason section.

Unless I get another bombshell of a seed dropped on me, the line up looks like this so far:

582 Hester '01
1097.5 Beachy
1367.5 Rose
1370 Rose
905 Ailts (898 Knauss x 1260 Weir)
658 Wolf (846 Calai x self)

If I can juggle the garden around some and make room, I may add:

721.5 Vincent (1458 Whittier 03 X 1172 Greer 02)
658 Lovelace (307 Little ’03 x Self)
216 Jepson (842 x self)

A first year grower with this kind of line-up...frightening thought ain't it?

as a footnote-
I know you'll read this Don. That day on your front porch when you said I was after the WV record...you were right. Either that, or I'll embarrass the heck out of myself..LOL

Mr. Orange

Hilpoltstein, Bavaria, Germany

Competition plants:

two 801.5 Stelts 97 (going to sibb them)
one 869.5 Calai 00
one 670 Daigle 03
one 846 Jutras 03
one 810 Dill 99 (I have two 810s and might save this one so that I can sibb in 06)

these are the ones that I have in mind now but might still replace one or two by any of the following:

1016 Daletas 01
604 Jutras 02
1076.5 Werner 02
1225.4 Jutras 03
1370 Rose 03
961 Daletas 01

I'll also have available some space in open field from a local farmer. I'll plant some more there for doing crosses or for producing flowers for pollinating the competition plants. I'm currently thinking of:

1125 Frantz 04
1101 Northrup 04
1074 Calai 02
965 Northrup 04
933 Jutras 04
495 Reiss 04
and maybe a few older 567.5 X 801.5 and 801.5 X 567.5 crosses.

Also, I might be able to get another spot in open field and would plant some ugly beast produces as to at least give them a chance and do the seeds justice....lol And well, who knows, maybe I'll get lucky as Boily did...
Seeds could be:

1097.5 Beachy 02
842 Eaton 02
845 Bobier 00
805 Pukos 00
582 Hester 01
735 Pukos 01
695 Handy 01

ron and i finally have a chance to prove out a theory ive had for quite some time now
i believe that planting your own seed stocks back into the same soil structure as the parents give you an edge over growers using the same seeds in a different location

( just look how many world records and/or world champions we have had that were grown using this system )

we expect to plant a combination of wallace 1068, 1048, 919, 961 and 500 ( all have 898 and 845 genetics )-with one pollinator to be named later
