I'm going to try using merit granular insecticide this year as a no spray program mentioned in Don Langevin's book. I need to order it because no garden centers have it here in san diego. Can someone recommend where I can order? I have seen .5% products online, but .2 or .3% was recommended. Would .5% be ok to use also? Thank you Jimmy

There is no Grub-X type product in your area with Merit as the main ingredient ?

nope, only a spray with it. Not sure if california has some regulation against selling it or what, but I looked around and no one has it. Jimmy

i called once and talked to a representative at Bayer, who makes the Imidacloprid, the main ingredient in Merit, Grubex, etc...Admire, etc....
i had mixed up some last year at the concentration of One Tablespoon to a gallon of water, WAYYYY! more than the recommendation, and the cuke beetles do not live more than sixty seconds if contacted by it, in this formulation. now, the guy i spoke with told me they had run many many tests at higher than recommended concentrations with no ill effects on the plants they tested, cucurbits or otherwise. i am thinking that this information will easily apply to what you are asking about. there must be a 1-800 number you can call on the websites where you found the .2 %, .5%, etc. concentrations. or just type-in Imidacloprid on your web browser, or Bayer Insecticide, etc., etc.,-----eric
