On one of my pumpkins there has developed a round white spot.It is on the very top and to the center. It is not soft . It has a few dark speckles on it this morning. We have had a lot of rain this week could this have anything to do with it. Also both of the pumpkins are growing very slow. I think they are both about 180 pounds. Will they still abort at this size.

Hi Kim im no pro but i,d say thay probley wont abort at that size.As to the white spot with specs on it i have no clue is the pumpkin shaded , have you sprayed it with disease control. When i spray my patch i spray my pumpkins also with insecticide and fungicide it keeps bugs off. i,d look in the book ( HOW TO GROW WORLD CLASS GIANT PUMPKINS )id look in the book and see if there,s anything in there. If it,s not soft don,t poke at it maybe it,s a flaw in the color.hope this was some help good luck keep em growing.
