Put all the *proven* seed at the top of the list, then newer stuff next. If you want a bigun', grow those proven ones to increase your odds.

forgot to comment on the crosses....

I'd definitely cross the 1370 Rose, 1225 Jutras, 1125 Frantz and the 915 Dieffenbaugher with the 846 Jutras and self the 846.

little rose,

I remember a photo of your "patch" last year and remember seeing a lot of hardened clumps of mud. Save the proven seeds, and concentrate on building up a healthy, rich soil. Soil and plant care should take priority over which seeds to plant. I also think that 11 plants is way too much work for even most seasoned growers. Concentrate on just a few plants, learn how to read what they need, and you will succeed. Also, listen to and do whatever Uncle Jerry suggests. It took me 4 years of building up the soil for me to reach 500#. Not all of us can grow a 1000#er in the first few years!

Words of wisdom from Kilr. Sounds like very good advice!
Maybe you can concentrate on two or three good crosses.
It will take me about three years to fit in all the crosses I'd like to do(with only 3-5 plants a yr.). So, I'm concentrating on those that are most appealing. This year, great color and shape are the objectives for me. If I don't change my mind(LOL).
