My daughter proudly showed me her math book and there it was it the "Boggle Your Mind" section. The question reads:
"In 1979 Dill set his first world-record with a 202.3 kg pumpkin. In 1993, the world-record pumpkin had a mass of 379.3 kg. Calculate the percentage increase in the mass of the world-record from 1979 to 1993".
Nice to see that our kids are being taught important things about growing pumpkins.....bigger is better!!

What do you think would be the increase of my chest if I would grow a 379,3 kg Pumpkin?

How can we weigh a pumpkin permanently during growth? No, not with a tape, and the bathroom scale method is also not working. The physicians I asked had nothing to offer. Somebody else? :)

My 4th grade daughter just completed a thesis for school titled.
"Will a pumpkin seed grow if you puncture a hole all the way through the seed coat?"......LOL
She planted both seeds one normal and one with pinhole through it. Both seeds came up fine on her project and the seed with the hole all the way though it actually came up first. Both seeds grew at the same rate and had the same root size. The only thing that was diffrent was the two holes in the cots when they opened and a little brown around the edges of the holes.
Im glad she thought of this thesis, lol

I didn't know you were looking for the answer !
379.3 - 202.3 = 177
(177/202.3) x 100 = 87.5%
