Why do we keep beating ourselves up.Lets face it there is no more pumpkin etiquette any more .There are two many new growers that dont understand the history of growing AG s. Lighten up and enjoy the time in the patch.

Please enlighten us new growers on "pumpkin etiquette". I for one would like to know if I am unintentionally doing something wrong.

Dave There are to many old school growers like your self and others that are involve in growing pumpkins what Ive noticed over the past five years is that some of the new grow are lets say alitte rough around the edges but most if not all learn pumpkin Etiquette after two or three years something about this sport the goodness lets say that straightens most growers out in two to three years time and normally if they don't straighten up you don't here from them agin. I still think there is hope. Oh yes i think our sport has involving and some bad things are entering it that i wish wouldn't but I truely beleive that the goodness will over come praise the good lord for that amen ...mark

I thought pumpkin etiquette is when you lift your little "pinky" when your eating a pumpkin doughnut and washing it down with some pumpkin spice java! Big Dave: Aren't you a former cop, you should know this!

Hey I am having a hard enough time teaching etiquette to a 7 1/2 year old. Teaching a pumpkin that doesn't speak back or run away plugging its ears can not be that tough. Just remember to teach your pumpkins not to wear white after labor day. Also teach it Orange and Green is ok but should not be seen. Not to belch(sp) at a weigh offs.

Well Dave, I guess I must not get it. Maybe I should put a bib on my pumpkn when I feed it this year since I am a new grower and must be such a slob! :)

Steve speaks the truth. I'm in sales. Every day of the week I run into someone who is "mistaken" about something. How I guide them back on track is why I am allowed the opportunity to do it. I could be more blunt & candid here since my face is hidden. But what about when I need help or seeds will the person I just offended be there for me? I suppose everyone is guilty of foot in mouth disease once in a while.
Now politics is another matter all together & I enjoy a good old fashioned knock-down-drag-out-brawl on the "non pumkin related" boards LOL! So there!

How long do you have to be into this before you can graduate from new grower status? Or is it based more on achievement? For instance, if a first time grower hits the 1K# mark (has this ever been done?) is he still a newbie? I am hoping to stay in the new class so I have an excuse come October. Eh, I guess thats not really what this thread is about, so this post in itself is bad form :) Ya I'm new!
