Grandpa's patch

White Bear Lake, Minnesota

This morning after church, I seen what I thought was a nerf basketball, near our privacy fence. Well, it turned out to be a pretty little pumpkin, about five inches in diameter, nice color, round and in very good shape. It had been buryed in the snow but with our spring-like weather last week, it thawed out and was exposed when the snow melted around it. It had been frozen and chewed on by squirrels, but not into the cavity, so I rescued it and saved the seeds. They seem to be in really great shape, and now are drying in my basement. I hope I can get some little pumpkins for the grandsons. Anyone interested in trading some seeds?? LOL Not often does one get to harvest seeds on Super Bowl Sunday, in February, in Minnesota. Talk about your cold weather pumpkins!!

Those seeds are already statified by your Minnesota winter. So they're probably all set to produce a few grandkid carvers!
