Today I discovered a pumpkin in my small pumpkin patch. I had originally planned to let the plant die and start over around March, but now since I have a pumpkin in the winter I don't know what to do. The leaves on the pumpkin's vine all look sick with mildew. The pumpkin is also green, about softball size. I heard somewhere that you should keep a wooden board under the pumpkin to keep it from rotting, but the board is too big. Can anyone please give me good advice on how to take care of a pumpkin and all the other advice that has to do with my pumpkin situation? Thanks -JOL91-

Where do you live? I used cardboard under my cantelope which was the size of a regular pumpkin, it kept it nice and dry. Tom Beachy
