I noticed that one of my two plants is oozing at the base of the plant it started after 6 or 7 days of wet weather at first it was just water leaking out. After i investigated and poked and scraped i couldent find any sings of a borer.I injected a shot of melithion and disease control and let alone for a couple of days. It seemed to let up a bit so i dusted with dry caption dust and 2 days ago it started to foam at the leakey spot. is it the caption dust mixed with the leak thats making the foam. has anyone else experienced this before.I buryied the stump for the first 8 weeks of growth and then unburyied it and saturated it on a regular bases with melithion every 5 or 6 days so i fint it hard to belive its a borer. Any thoughts ?

I have never heard or read anything about unburying the stump. Can you give alittle more information on how and why that is done?

hi water i buryed the stump and all the vines with dirt 100%normally you or i would just bury the vines to get extra roots but i also buryed the stump with dirt and about 8 or nine weeks down the line i got worried about the stumps so i unburyed them there large maybe 13 to 15 inchs around. the reason i buryed them was to keep the borers out in mid season but i got worried about rot with all the rain that we have been haveing in N.H SO I EXPOSED THEM and have been spraying them heavy with malithion
