I should be getting a big supply sometime in the next between now and a few months. Waiting for one of the belts to be changed.... I will probably have enough to sell you some.

we put it under pumpkins because it is very smooth. acts like sand but better to make pumpkin flat on bottom (well as flat as you could hope for usually).

Is there a possibility that someone can take a good close up picture of this Mill Fabric and Email it to me. I have made a few calls to places that i would imagine it to be used here in the UK and no one has any idea what i am trying to describe.
Thanks Mike

It is almost like a metal screen for a window Mike. It comes in different meshes.

Thank's Shannon, i know what you mean now, we would probably describe that as a gauze. wouldn't this type of material act a little like a cheese grater on the base of the Pumpkin as it expands with size and weight.

I also am expecting to be getting a big load of the belting from a mill in April and will likely have some available.

Here is a picture of Shellie's fabric. Forget the intended purose of the contraption I was building. I was dilusional.

I believe it is made from Nylon. It's about 1/16" thick. Shellie UPSed them to us in approx. 3x4' squares. I don't think these things will ever wear out the way we use them.
I seriously doubt a Mouse would try to chew through one. When in doubt, lay some copper window screen (Pest Control Suppliers) on the sand first.
Mouse & fruit rot protection:
Builder's Sand bed (holds shape better than others) Copper screen (mouse proof as all heck) Thin layer of Play sand (better fruit movement) Pulp Mill Belting fabric (or whatever it really is) Pumpkin

We use a piece of mill felt for a pumpkin lifter. Hubby just cut handhold slits every couple of feet or so and it did not rip during lifting. However, it did rip when he ran a chain through only one slit and tried to haul my 400 pound plus pumpkin with the 4 wheeler. That sort of over did it. *grin*
