Today I recieved my wirless video camera, and I tested it out. Everything seems to be working just fine.
I have a Solar Panel to charge a small battery and all I have to do is get every thing setup and I will have a garden web cam, that i will share on my web page. So at the flick of a switch I can show weather or garden. I do believe my retirment time will be shared with the world, how about that.

Now all I have to do is keep my strength up to do my garden work and I am doing that untill I have to rest a lot.
I really hope I can have a pumpkin over 100 pounds, I know that is small for most of you guys but if I hit that mark i'll try for 200 and so on.

It's really nice to be here on this bbs and read and learn.Maybee i'll get to know you guys in time - i have always been a little slow on that type of stuff. Any way my web page is always there www.pldi.net/~larrylandon

Good luck, Larry, I'll be sure to check out your camera. If you need any seed for this year, let me know, I've ended up with more than I can plant.

James.

I forgot to add that the camera i'm going to use for my garden is only $44 on the net and it's 99 percent water proof so I put two little globs of goop to make it 100 percent water proof - it also has 32 infrared leds in the front so it will show at nite as well as day time.
If anyone needs help on setting up a web page I will share information on how to get it going with free programs that do very well. All you need is permission to ftp from your provider and most will do that willingly.

Hi Larry, there used to be a pumpkin cam section here on BP.com as well. I´m sure Ken and John would appreciate to have some working cams again to show here in 2005. I had a cam in 2002 and the pics had to be sent to the BP server with FTP every 10 minutes.

Good luck! My last seasons biggest was 137 lbs, without checking soil ph, nutrient levels, or major things like that, just luck, adequete water, and guessing how much liquid soluble fertilizer to use. Find out as much as you can on this site. I have learned so much from it and if this site weren't here I probably wouldn't have gotten into this sport. Good luck again and just have fun!

be sure to have a diode inline to prevent solar panel damage.mfg should have specs
.
you may have sealed the cam too much.
fog and moisture have to be able to escape.
a old licence plate makes a great roof and glare shield.

UPDATE!
I guess we take the good with the bad in life, on the good side,! I now have seeds to plant - thanks again to everyone! on the bad side - the camera that i bought failed after 10 min of testing. Well life isn't over if they don't replace it - I'll find another else where!

Two steps forward - one step back. Thats what life is all about.

I'm sitting here looking at my seeds and telling my self that spring is just around the corner.

I have been tilling the ground trying to kill weeds grass and the like. This is Oklahoma dirt and it has never been worked. Looks like it's going to take a couple of years to get it into shape, but there will still be planting in the spring.
