I'm expecting some seeds in the mail today and if they arrive, will sit in the mailbox for 10 hours.....it's about 7 degrees today........

Not at all.... Some people actually intentionally freeze their seeds, as they believe it increases germination percentage.

Your seeds will be fine... Some of our pumpkins sit out in the field all winter.. Sometimes getting down to -30°. They still volunteer alot of seedlings. I think the period of cold helps some seeds think they have gone throught the winter cycle.

I freeze my best &/or oldest seeds. I can't fir all of the seeds in the freezer & keep the domestic tranquility.
Some growers have dedicated freezers just for this purpose.

Cool temps will keep the seeds viable for an extra few years but as long as you keep them dry they will still grow for at least 5 or 6 years. I keep mine in the house at room temperature. 100% germination rate last year... Michel
