If Martin ever sends me his 801.5 x Self I'll plant that one for certain....LOL!
Aside from that 869.5 Calai or 1104.5 Hester, 300+ genetics Garrell....801.5 Stelts x self 497 Isabel White 03.....869.5 Calai x self 552 Sherwood....going green! 556 Mongeon, 898 x 845 894 Glasier, 898 x 845 738 Glasier, 845 x 723 aside from that 855, 1180, and 1082 which probably need no introduction.
Also will have two additional plants from my wife and 5 plants from friends which I can chose and use as pollinators. the season is looking good so far and I hope again for 100% germination!

4 plants this year. 1st choice of seeds are:
842 eaton 735 pukos 1247 handy 1446 eaton
if any of those do not germinate, then the following backup seeds will replace those.
919 holland to replace the 735 pukos 1446 eaton (2nd seed) will replace the first 1446 1301.5 eaton to replace the 842 eaton for line breeding to cross with the 1446 905 ailts to replace the 1247 handy
i will also germinate 3 of each of the following crosses for backup plants. the healthiest looking sprout of the 3 will be planted along side of my prime 4 sprouts, only to be culled unless tragedy strikes. the remaining sprouts will go to local newbies.
my 885 shenoha 2004 dmg est.(1301.5 eaton x 695 handy) my 764 shenoha 2004 dmg est.(695 handy x 1301.5 eaton) my 505 shenoha 2004 est.(1082 curry x 1301.5 eaton) my buddy tim peters' 410 est 2004 (741 eaton x 1301.5 eaton) i figure that i have plenty of my own seeds to waste on culls and this way i can see how my own crosses do at least to the 4 or 5 leaf stage before culling them. this will help get a feel for each plant before considering to grow them next year.

These are my top 15, and I have room for one plant in my home patch (maybe a second for pollination). What I don't grow at home, Glenn (North Shore Boyz) and I may grow out at the PNE (it's the provincial fair grounds) if we can work that out. I have no idea what I'm going to do.

For me it looks like 6 plants, divided into 3 sections, with a theme for each. (This is a strategic plan... it's already been a long winter.) As you can see, I'm not afraid to plant "unproven" seeds:
Squash Section 681 Beauchemin 04 (895 Hester X 854 Reinsborough) - 12% heavy 874.5 Dieffenbaugher 04 (312 Welty X Self) - deep green
Color Section 981 Zunino 04 (1230 Daletas X 1048 Companion) - very interesting color cross 891 Tanner 04 (753 Pukos X Self) - 846 Calai selfed twice
898 Section 753 Pappas 03 (898 Knauss X Self) 500 Beauchemin 04 (1074 Beauchemin X 898 Knauss)
Each category has backups, which I won't get into here, but you can see them on my site at:
http://idahopumpkin.tripod.com/
See the 2005 - Preseason section.
Looking forward to warmer days, Cliff

With space for at most five plants, I have at least six proven seeds to choose from. Problem is I have too many interesting unproven seeds that I would like to try also.To complicate the issue further, dare I say it, I might go green in one site. Decisions decisions.
For sure, will go with the 1097 Beachy with a 922 Kurkowski (845 B X 845 B) as a backup in one mound.
Second keeper is the 1104.5 Hester. Hill mate for this one will probably be the Hester 977 ( 846 Calai X 898 Knauss)
Going to try for orange this year.I like the 1125 Frantz. Daletas 976 (846 Calai X 898 Knauss )will be the backup.
After that it gets a little hazy. With two more sites to go, the following are being considered:
Daletas 971 ( 869.5 Calai X 898 Knauss ) 854 Rivard ( 805 Pukos X 805 Pukos ) 873.5 Pugh ( 845 Bobier X 963 Stucker) 753 Pappas ( 898 Knauss x 898 Knauss)

Oh, I guess the 876.5 Pugh, should be the 873.5 Pugh. You'd think a guy would know his own seed...
