Not that many of you probably care, but I have changed my nickname here on BP and wanted those who regularly converse with me to know. I have gone from Gluteas Maximas to Applegator and am now going to use my real name - Dale Fisher. In light of a lot of the recent "activity," I decided to forego anonymity and just be me. I am still from Applegate, Oregon though…lol.
BTW…Don’t forget about the PGVG seed sale going on right now! So many great choices, so little room…lol.

Dave,
Thanks for the congrats on the 1028.5. The 734 Duffy is a 629.5 Duffy 02 (1049 Holland 01 x 1028 Hester 01) x 1156 Larsen 02 (898 Knauss x 1062 Rivard). It kind of got planted by accident, but will be grown again this year in my main patch. I loved the 734 plants this year (actually had several 734's, and all were "beasty"), and all were grown in unprepared soil.

Thanks for the update and stay warm!

Wow, I did not intend to have anyone change their screen name or imply that I thought anyone should. It seems that I have started something...lol. I just wish I liked the nick I was using, just got tired of it. I mean, I started out as a big a$$ on here with my first "handle" and then went to something moronic. My lack of creativity and a few emails from people not knowing who the heck I was lead me to being mtself.
Along these lines, I have been to a lot of forums centered around other topics (commodity trading and racing) where anonimity was vital to avoid spam and various other ill intending activities. This place however, has been great, and I like being me anyway.
So, does anyone else have their short list of what to plant in '05 narrowed down to like 100 seeds? I am ahead of the game this year...lol. BTW, after seeing parts of the auction last night, I'd say their are some mighty good prices for seeds at the PGVG seed sale! (I know, shameless plug). --Dale Fisher, slowly thawing out and partially dug out in Applegate, OR.

Not unusual Dale. Every winter about this time someone starts a "Screen handle" = real name thread.
And there are always a couple folks who have never come clean & probably never will. LOL

I'm Jennifer Floyd, but go by Shahbazin on the boards I frequent - it's my flock/kennel prefix, as I breed registered Anatolian Shepherds & Shetland sheep, plus fancy poultry. In an indirect way, how I got into gardening a few years ago - you get all this sheep & poultry manure & think "There must be something I could grow with all this...." :)

Hey Shahbazin, I too had anatolian shepherd! She was my first dog. We found her by the road in Turkey, few weeks old and worms were already eating her lips.. Anyway she grew up to the best dog I have ever known!

| floh |
Cologne / Germany
|
I live on a small mountain (190 ft above sea level :) with app. 6 buildings on top. Most of the few people (families) have been living here since 1880. We call us "flohberger" where "floh" is a flea and "berger" is someone living in the mountains :) It´s also a wrong translation from "flee" because in history people came up here to flee from enemies or floods. There was a volcanic sea around us a few thousand years ago, and from time to time I find simple tools from the stone age while digging in my patch, so we are not the first generation living here... I´m pretty proud of this so I´m just floh (Ingo)

Sequoia Greg is back. Anyone who has been here awhile knows who i am. I have had this nick for as long as I have been on the internet. I have always had a really deep respect for the huge redwoods only about 30 miles from my home. That has always been a real unreal thing that I have ever seen . Now growing Giant Pumpkins are close to that. So im keepimg my nick. Greg C.
