The recent post on heat tolerance got me wondering about this, the heaviest I can think of is the 1142 Van Kooten which appears to have been grown at 49 degrees lat.
Do you know of any bigger ones from this far or further North?

How about Börje Gustavsson from Sweden. He has proven that 1000lbs is possible there, he just had bad luck as his fruit split...

At first I was thinking Ken Meyer is up in Spanish Ontario CA.

982.4 Meyers '03 = 712 Kuhn '00 x 845 Bobier '00 UOW

But Spanish is sitting at 46.19* Lat which is much further south than JvK.

Pt. Alberni is at 49.25 so those must be some long days in a very short growing season.

Jake has grown 1000+ lbs on the 1066 Vezzelo, 1016 Daletas, 1005 Mombert & the 1367.5 Rose. Of course he could probably grow any seed over a thousand & as soon as he does that seed is harder to get. LOL

Then I remembered J.D. Megchelsen from the kenai Peninsula in Alaska. He grows at 60.03 degrees Lat.

707 Megchelsen '04 = 727 Pearce '03
504 Megchelsen '04 = 727 Pearce '03 too.

Looks like that 727 is a fine northern grower for JD!

J.D. Megchelsen of Nikiski Alaska 707 lbs...I think Spudley had a big one also.

The Alberta record of 817 was grown in Smoky Lake in 2004, around 54.5 degrees north.

Our own record 912 O'Hanlon/Cupit was grown at about 53.5 N.
The info is out there to calculate variations that latitude and elevation make to the weight of a pumpkin so that we could make allowance for this when comparing fruit from different areas, gathering it up would be a pretty big task though.
