I just got done sucking about 80 gallons of water out of my basement. I'm going to install a sump pump this weekend hopefully. Well I'd better go to bed, I'm getting up at 4:00 AM to check out my basement before I go to work. Well maybe just one more shot of Cabo Wabo................. It's still raining with no signs of stopping. If only we can get this in July..........

I just got home. My uncle pumpus out the water twice while I was at work! Only a few inches the first time. It started to snow!!!! Thank God it did because it slowed the seeping. WOW I wish I had my camera with me (I need to do better at that) There's water across several roads and the water is 57" over the dam in Pontiac. Well Its all going to turn to ice hire in a few hours. temps in the single digits! Tomorrow a low of 1deg.!!!!!!!!
COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!

Scary weather here. Raining pretty good right now. Are high for the day was 17 degrees celcius 50 to 65 ferrinheit and overnight the temp is going to drop to - 10 degrees Celcius. That means record high temps lots of rain than having one of the biggest drops in temperature on record here. Every puddle will freeze solid, roads to rinks, I could probably skate up the Freeway by my house, that be fun but not likely since they dump salt on it like crazy. Anyways sorry to hear bout your unfortunet situation Brad. Hope everything works out for you.

80 gallons thats not too bad(any water sucks!)I have only had water in my basement about 4 times in 10 years and I have mini geysers shooting up thru the cracks in the floor. The sump pump (normally only for the utility sink) is running about every 5 minutes the river is still rising, hope it stops soon!!!!!! I wish it would freeze for awhile and let me put some manure on the garden. Steve

Kyle that's exactly what happened here. Yesterday it was 66 deg F and we got 2" of rain here last night. The ground just won't soak in any more water ditches, creeks and rivers are flooding. Tonight it's going to get around 5 deg F 1 deg for a low tomorrow with a high in the teens. The only thing helping us is the snow is giving us pretty good traction. We'll see what happens....
Wow my typing is horrible in my last post.....yikes

Steve I just bought the house 4 years ago. I plan to put new gutters on this spring. I'm sinking a sump pump this weekend (a little late I know). I'm also going to add some tile and slope more dirt around my foundation. I'd really like to be able to have a dry basement so I can put nice things downstairs. I know I'll never carpet or anything but I'd like to put my weights down there.

HEy Brad, We're pretty waterlogged over here too. Still cleaning up trees around town from the ice storm last week, got me alot of firewood stockpiled for next season already..lol. Water is over the road just around the corner from our house and is about to overflow the dam. Somehow my patch is still not flooded, a little waterlogged maybe, but not flooded. I think planting that winter rye helped in that aspect a little bit.

Hey, Northwest Ohio We had Ice then snow then rain. Yesterday I pumped water from my mom and dads basement all day with a sump pump and a 2" 3 hp trash pump full boar just too keep the water 6 inches deep or less. Which is good considering my dad drove by some peoples houses that the water was completely surrounding the houses. At least it makes it interesting...... I just hope the weather gets better by spring!

BRad, we only lost power for about 2 hours in Butler. Neighboring towns lost it for most of the week. There were crews here from Detroit, Baltimore, North Carolina, and Georgia just trying to help get the power back on to the area. Talk about a mess! I'm goin out cuttin more wood in the morning, this is great, I'll be way ahead on wood for next year.
