Yes I know there has been many posts on this topic. But I'm kind of panicking right now. I looked at my 136 lbs seeds in their baggy and had a surface mold, brownish to blackish spots. Other than peroxide or bleach solution is there any other way to clean them. Will a disinfectant spray work. Washing them thoughly with soapy luke warm water than a very good drying?
Thank you for your help.

Oh ya and to add to that. Will this mold effect germination if it does happen and if it does will this effect the seedling? And would freezing the seeds work?
Thanks again.

chances are, kyle, the mold on your seeds is not gonna cause a real problem for the seeds when they germinate. i had seeds from my 300 in '01 that even though they were rinsed and allowed to air dry via fan and big table, the moisture is there long enough to do its damage. some black spots, generally haggard-looking seeds. those seeds germninate fine! i would get them out of the baggy right away--that may be keeping the moisture in that is causing the problem.
no food dehydrator? ah, ah, ah!!!! gotta get one! best method for drying seeds! failing that, dry them some more in a dry part of the house, maybe somewhere where the temp. is up around 85-90.
actually i did re-rinse some seeds i got back from one of my fruits in '03.....they had a surface mold, kinda powdery, no spots though. i just put them in the sink in plain, warm, not hot! water, and sifted through them a few times, put them in the food dehydrator and three to four days later they were dry as could be...you really need to get a food dehydrator. 40 bucks, American! what's that now? 41 Canadian? lol-----good luck! by the weigh, THOSE seeds were fine, lso. eric

I had mold like that on seeds I put them in a 10to1 bleach solution for about 30sec then rinsed and let dry no problem after

My other seeds that didn't get moldy didn't because I forget them in a paper towel for a week. Didn't even use a fan, they were bone dry
