To date the oldest Pumpkin seed I ever germinated was 5 years old. I thought I heard of 7-8 years.

The seeds I want to try are from 1976.

heard they have germinated grain from Egyptian tombs over 3000 year old. Would be interesting if it is true.

On pumpkinnoon.com there is a story about some 50 year old pie pumpkin seeds germinating and doing quite well.

I'd say they have a shot if they were kept in good conditions.

Scary thought, those seeds are from before I was born. Ouch.

I got 2 out of 3 781 Schlutt 96 seeds to germinate last year.(no special treatment). At germination they looked a little sickly compared to newer seeds but grew quite robustly afterward.

Last year I germinated and grew the 697 Ciliberto 94. It produced a 469 on a flag style pattern on 3 vines.
