Subject:  Big pumpkin in Rose Bowl parade!

I didn't actually see it (any links, anyone?), but my dad was watching the parade this morning & told me that on one float, they had a 700+ pound pumpkin on it that the lady who designed the float grew in her backyard.

itook 2 nd place to that pumpkin at small weighoff
mine went heavy at 683 hers was 72? but hers looked much bigger
it must have went lite. had a great time. cant belive it lasted for 2.5 months. hope to be there next yr.

I didn't see a pumpkin, but I didn't look closely at all the pictures... it might be in there somewhere. The floats are amazing, even without an AG!

Thanks to some wonderfully helpful folks from this site 'Howard' made it to New Year's day. He was on the left side of the City of St. Louis float..just behind the Cornucopia. I don't think we have ever used this many vegetables on a float in the past...ornamental corn, peppers, tomatoes,artichokes,grapes and of course pumpkins!!
The float won the Judges' Special trophy.
Thankyou everyone for your kind comments!....Maybe I can incorporate a giant pumpkin into one of next year's designs as well!
