I am growing my plants in a new area this year, and am wondering how liquid fertilizer can be applied. I am planning on watering the plants from a nearby pond, using a gas pump. There is no town water nearby, so what would be the best way to apply liquid fertilizer?

just a caution regarding use of pond water
no matter how you pump it onto you patch you need to realize that unless you keep the pond water moving ( we use a fountain in center of pond ) that lots of pithium and other diseases will get passed onto you patch and plants

to avoid this we
1. run a fountain in center of pond
2. pump pond water out to patch via an underground line
3. pass water through a (sand) pool filter
4. after passing through sand filter we pipe pond water (inline) through an infra red system before going either through a fertilizer injector or bypassing the injector and appling h20 directly onto patch
its a costly , but between this method and a good disease control spray program, we have had little disapointment with regard to plant and pumpkin health

I can vouch for that...looks good as well. I'm sure dick told me broke one of those infra-red lights as well...cost like 250 bucks?
