What are your thoughts on Jim-B picture Of his 503? Has any one seen this in one of their culls? Do many young pumpkins have solid meat like this? I would think it would hollow out as it grew but this picture gets you wondering.

all pumpkins that small have solid centers. they dont develop any sort of cavity until about 100 lbs for me. Unless they are mature like the 21....

I cut open a 40 pound cull last year. The pumpkin was on about day 20. It had thin walls - about two inches thick. Mine definately was not solid.

The culls I have fed to the chickens are always solid..

My culls never get that big so I have no idea. But that pumpkin looks like its about 40 pounds or so.
