Thanks,
Matt

Echo & Stihl are both great machines. Go with the brand that you can get parts & service for locally. Try to use a dealer that's been around a while or at least behaves like they will.
Always avoid the big-box mass merchants & shops with a reputation for switching owners or stocking brands.

I may be wrong but I think Solo is really going downhill and every machine I have from my blower to my chainsaw is Stihl and I'm 90 percent happy with Stihl although Husky might be even better if you have the money.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a mistblower so if you could expand I'd be better able to comment. My leaf blower is the professional Stihl and it's great but it takes awhile to warm up but I probably just need to bring it into the shop for fine tuning. Michel

I'd just like to add that here in Germany it is very hard to get rid of your garbage and that it costs an arm and a leg but I managed to pawn off two Solos this week to a Croatian that will pawn off my junk tiller and mower to Croatia this coming year to Croatia via automobile. Good riddance!

Can anyone corroborate with me that Solo leaks oil like crazy from its defective carbs?
I hate oil in my patch!

Solo has had QC problems across the line the past few years. I know because we private label some of their non-powered sprayers.
Japanese Solo products aren't made by Solo. Japanese manufactured goods are probably made by Sibaura or ISM. Only a select line of German made saws are really made by Solo.
Either way, none of the manufacturers mentioned so far make their own carburetors. These might be made by Tilitson, Mikuni, etc are are all Asian built.
If any 2-cycle engine is spewing oil from the carb, then there is an airflow problem. Either a crankcase gasket is leaking (look for dirt accumulating at the crankcase mating areas) or more likely the spark arresting screen in the muffler is clogged. Cleaning the screen (or just plain ripping it out) will make a world of difference in performance.
Check the exhaust screen first. It is a simple repair.

Someone else posted this before, and it's the one I'm buying. I don't need anything much larger for my size patch.

I wouldnt figure that would blow the mist very far Im also thinking about being able to mist/spray a few fruit trees with it as well. Steve

A cheap mist blower can be made from a leaf blower and a hand or backpack sprayer. Insert the spray nozzle near or in the blower outlet _ works great in the pumpkin patch or small orchard.

Kind of ackward walking around with 2 machines attached together isn't it? I mean, a sprayer and it's nozzle stuck to a leaf blower....how do you spray and blow simultaneously? How do you carry such a thing? Maybe it's just me, but I don't get it.....

That's my kind of thinking. A year later after my super cheapo marriage and developed contraptions have failed definately... and beyond a shadow, of a doubt looks big, white and has a trunk. Only then would I suggest a new machine well designed, to do the job, may have been better.
Let's see now the blower must operate constantly. The wand with an extra long custom hose must be secured at one end, to a tank full, of goodies and at the other end afixed securely within the blower's nozzle. All of the above must be attached, to a little red custom outfitted wagon attached, to a garden tractor. The tractor needs a cartway with nice looking 2B stone. We needed the pathway anyway, to make observation trips around the patch. At well planned points there should be an apron provided large enough, for a park bench and a water outlet post. Don't overlook the need for a stone wall, to contain the added height all the extra humus has created. The stone wall should leak drainage without fail. The cartway stone should be at least two inches deep so the drainage can seep through, to a well designed collection pit. Very important that you test drive the rig so that the curves are wide enough, to go round about.
Working this a little at a time and all with care and planning should see me with a great operating system that, in about two or three years, does not work very well anyway.
Costing this all out realistically. Just look what I could have saved buying that dandy machine, of my choice right now.
