im curious and have a couple questions to ask all growers

where do you weigh your pumpkin each year ?
do you weighoff at an independent site or at a gpc site ?
do you have a preference ?

The only game in town for me, North Shore News Giant Pumpkin Contest in North Vancouver. I could travel down to Seattle or WA for some of the bigger weigh-offs, I guess, but I think the NSNGPC will be THE place to weigh-in for the PNW in the future, so I'll stay here.

Central Mi

I go to two weighoffs a year one is at my home town in Clare Mi at the city park the other is a GPC site in St. Johns Mi at Andy T's farm market. I don't have a preference they both are lots of fun and a good excuse to see alot of great people. The one thing that is nice about the Clare weighoff is no 25% rule to make a pumpkin a squash so you don't have to wonder if it's a pumpkin or a squash. Todd S

Bellville street fair, not GPC but alot of local guys there with bigguns. HEy Brooks, can anybody weigh in at Barnsville? MIght try to make it over there this year.

Western NY

I usually hit 5 different weighoffs each year. Clarence, Elmira, Cooperstown (www.nysgpga.com), Wheatfield, and Bradford. Bradford is the only one not in NY and is basically a tiny thing for locals. This year, i only took fruit to Elmira and Cooperstown. All are independant sites, but Cooperstown may opt to go GPC next year.

mike, anyone can go to barnesville, i went for the first time last year and it was GREAT !! cool trophies and real nice people.

i also weighed one at our county fair, the canfield one (GPC) at parks' , oakland nursery in columbus, and i was out of fruit by time stow came around but nick took one of his.

canal winchester ohio

I have 2.. Chillicothe, Ohio ( GPC) & Circleville, Ohio ( Independent). Chillicothe was a very nicely run weighoff but I lean towards Circleville for my favorite for one main reason..BIGGEST WINS NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR!!!!........Paul
