If you need any tips on growing the peppers please do not hesitate to contact me. I'm more than willing to help.
Germination, growing, problems, identification, drying, etc.

The Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) require special germination techniques. You must maintain a semi-humid constant 80-85 degrees for about 3 weeks before they will germinate. Do not use peat pellets or peat pots for any of them. It's too acidic and drys too quickly. I highly recommend ground coconut coir as a seed starter. Burpee sells them in compressed bricks at my local Home Depot. Kelp and Fish are the best nutrients for them. I foliar feed them every other day in the mornings when they reach a height of around 6 inches. If planting them in pots I suggest putting them in a semi shaded area, the roots overheat easy and will make them grow slow, increase flower drop and your pods will be smaller. If you plant them in the garden full sun is great. Space them about 2 ft apart. They do not need a lot of water. If you want them hotter (more capsaicin) then you should only water them when they start to look a little wilted and droopy. Not too much. If you stress them they do indeed get hotter. Years of trial and error have taught me a lot about peppers not to mention asking lots of questions to the big boys of the hot pepper world such as Butch Taylor. Enjoy!
