Pumpkin #2 (1059 Wentzell)at 874.5 lbs took first prize at the Fredericton Exhibition. Pictures at http://tingleyspc.homelinux.org/Photos/Pumpkins/ Pumpkins 3 and 4 (Northrup seed) look promising for some good weights by the end of September.

The NB provincial weighoff is at Neguac on Sunday, Sept.25 but is not an official site. Windsor NS is Sat. Oct 1. We will have to make a decision in a couple of weeks if there are no blowouts. There was frost in some areas in NB in August. We are on the Saint John River so usually OK till late Sept. and some years Oct. before the first frost.

Good job there, Bendavid. Do you know what the OTT measurements were for the 874.5?
What do you have growing up there in Antigonish, Papa Bill? Any big ones?

Nothing big at all.I only have a very small back-yard patch with two half-decent fruit.(that's a 250 pounder est and a smalller one about 150lbs.)I have however recently visited John MacKinnon's patch in Cape Breton and he has two 600 plus ones still going strong, although his biggest one,a nice orange one, has recently developed a stem crack.

A leaking end! On Thursday, Sept. 8 it developed a leak (interior rot) at the exhibition and had to be disposed of in the dumpster. the seeds were salvaged. See pictures at http://tingleyspc.homelinux.org/Photos/Pumpkins/2005/2/
