I'm a former science teacher, now a writer writing a botany book for 10 to 12 year olds called "The Pumpkin Project." It's full of puzzles, investigations, projects, fun facts and recipes about pumpkins. I'm also including a set of short interviews about various aspects of growing pumpkins.
One of the interviews is about growing giant pumpkins in various parts of the world. Christy Harp answered the dozen questions for the USA. Is someone willing to answer for places in Europe? It could be more than one as various countries are different.
I'm in south central Missouri, USA. I write on nature, science and dairy goats and have some articles published. Personally I prefer growing pie pumpkins as I cook with them and feed some to my goats. They love them. This year I'm planning to try a giant pumpkin providing the seeds start. Our weather has been unusally cold this spring.
I'm not online at home so I may be a bit slow to answer. Thanks for your help.
