I got my soil test back from A&L Labs. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated. The bed is about 600 sq ft.
All amounts are in LB/Acre unless otherwise stated.
PH 6.9 P 182 K 420 Ca 8548 Mg 376 S 1766 B 5.6 Cu 15.2 Fe 344 Mn 396 Zn 35.4 Na 62
OM % 5.3 ENR 150
CCEC 19.3 meq/100g
%K 2.6 %Ca 87.5 %Mg 7.5 %H 1.5 %Na 0.7
K:Mg 0.34 I believe the Mg is on the low side. Any thoughts?
I try to stay organic.
Thanks, Paul

your calcium is off the charts! heheh along with your iron and mangenese. I'm not sure if they can be toxic, but they are way high:) ph is great though, organic matter ok. with your calcium so high, your ratio of magnesium, potassium, calcium is off. Not sure what to do about it, any experts know? Best wishes, jimmy

With an Iron reading of 344, I'd say that you must be growing on a bed of rusty nails! Should produce some mighty "heavy" pumpkins! :>)

Hmmm.....I keep seeing others soil test results but mine are much different, and no terribly devastating effects this year...unless alot of splits is abnormal, but that was quite prevalent with many folks. These *are* correct. They've been done numerous times in 2004 and always about the same.

I'd apply about a pound of K20 & grow grow grow!
Add some more organic materials too. Aged Horse would do it.
Some growers are blessed. Farmer Braun is one.
