I was just looking at my 3-pounds of Holland's endoplus inocculant and was wondering if the "RidEx" that we dump down the septic system to keep it healthy would help breakdown our Poop/compost Pile? Any other thoughts on bio-composting large amounts of $hit & Debris?

Gad's that is a great idea if it works. you may try as well liver and sour milk. both of which speed up septic break down by increasing bioactivity. so it should work as well in the compost. (i wounder how many people will start giving milk to there pumpkins again lol)

RidEx is fine......expensive though! A bit of fish oil, kelp and molasses is the finest booster money can buy. Most suggest no meat or protien derived from meat for the compost. There are health issues as well as animal attraction issues when introducing meats. Spoiled liver was and remains a major poison paste used on poison darts to kill other animals.

Unless you have a septic tank that goes into a municipal sewer, do not use rid-ex or any similar product. They are designed to break up and float out the solids in the septic tank. if you have an onsite system (sand filter, abs bed, leach pit, ect...), these will become plugged up from the extra load of solids and lead to the premature failure of the system. personally, i'm not sure why they are allowed to sell some of these things. oh, and if you have a camper/rv, don't dump those wastes into your system either if you are using some sort of treatment in the camper, as they contain formaldahyde, which will do just about the same thing to the system.

as far as a compost starter, i'm not sure if it would work any better than the other compost elixers out there, but in theory it should get it to break down.

One of the greatest elixers is the combination of fish, kelp and Black Strap Molasses. Ya just can hardly make a home brew any better......remembering that any sugar is a carbohydrate that will do good for your hungry little jaws unseed within your patches. Black stap has trace minerals and carbon too. Good Stuff!

The commercial elixer I choose to use is Symbex 4, AGRO-K because I have had great success with it. I use my home brews to support it and extend it's value.
