Ran across some did some research, sounds good.gets ft long white( carrot shaped)then sends down a tap 3ft to bring up nurtreints.a farmer round here did a test. By planting one part in oilseed radish &his regular on other.cover crop was only difference in erea.oilseed erea produced half as much more that year.
Have yaw ever used it?

You have to plant forage/tillage radish in mid to late July to get maximum benefit. Radish is a member of the brassica family, and suppresses the growth of other plants, hence it should be used in the fall and allowed to die from frost, or killed by spraying weed killer on it.

I've used it and think it's great. It does need to be fertilized to get those extra long tap roots.

Sow it whenever it starts to cool down in Tennessee. Cooler temps usually start mid to late July in Vermont. It takes 3 or 4 days of 20 degree weather to kill it. No tilling needed, and it leaves nice holes in the ground.

Yardman, I planted mine in late Sep there 5" tall and look great.
