Well, Ive waited so long for the County Agent to get my soil test results that I sent a sample of my soil, from the same soil I gave to the Agent, to A & L Labs Eastern. I got my results from A & L and they are quite different. I would assume that since A & L do this for a living, thats the one I should use. If anyone wants to discuss this with me, that would be great. You can email me if you want, fraleyky at hotmail.com or post here. Thanks so much. Croley Bend

I had the same thing happen to me a couple yrs ago. I would recomend A&L labs. the county ext office gets so many samples of dirt. and since they arent in the buisness. I feel safer going to a soil testing place. like A&L

Yep, just got off the phone with A & L and they say, perhaps the Extension office is using parts per acre instead of parts per million. Could explan the difference. I will go with A&L recommendations. Thanks Captain. Croley

Mrs. Bend...not sure if true in all counties here in Ky., but my soil samples taken to county agent go to U of K to be analyzed, and the results that come back are in the per acre style, although I thought it was pounds per acre. Hope you grow a BIG one!!! Peace, Wayne

Mr Peace, Same here in Whitley County, the soil sample is sent to UK to testing. I was told by our Agent it was ppm, parts per million, but I beieve it is parts per acre...So when growers are talking say your Mg should be 300, is that ppm or ppa???

Mrs. Bend...I think all the "in the know" folks look at results in ppm. Maybe someone "in the know" will help us out here!!!??? Peace, Wayne
