Check out this site bil, its from north american kelp. If you brows the site you wil find the content of kelp including sodium. I wil be around 4% i think but look around.

Bill,

Richard B. on the site has the best home brewed seaweed this side of the Mississippi and Mongahela river, that flows right back into the Atlantic Ocean and then all the way back up a stream to a place in Alaska where the three legged speckled frog trout spawn.

tina & frank, i checked out the site you gave me.and it said salt content was 4.18 %. my local feed mill has kelp at less than 5 % per bag. i may be wrong but that sounds almost the same amount , and no shipping & handling fees
the feed grade on that site had the same label as the soil enhancer kelp. so i'm going to dig a little deeper into it. thanks again , Bill

Bill, just curious, whats the product name on that kelp, and whats the name of the feed mill? is it like a small family run mill?. Around here its almost impossable to find any type kelp like that.

One last thing to add to your thread Bill. I might be wrong on this, but doesn't a soluble type kelp have way less salt? But on the down side a soluble doesn't pack all the goodies in it like a Granular type kelp would(North American Kelp)?
Is it true that a granular type kelp has way more nutrients in it verses a soluble type kelp because when they make a kelp into a soluble it takes alot out of it? Be nice to get a soluble kelp that packs the same exact nutrients, people could save a bundle on shipping cost.

Brooks, the feed mills name is M.C milling in Seaman Ohio.
I will find the brand name of the kelp and post it tomarrow.
But any feed mill that grinds and mixes their own grain should carry kelp. its used as an adative to feed. my feed store has it for $49.00 a 50 lb bag. but i will get the brand name of the kelp and post it for you, Bill
