Info. CA 6148lb/acre. %sat 76.4. My % Ca is lower normal. Would it help me to add some gypsumth this fall? My ph is 6.8.
My organic matter is low 5.8%.
I have added 2 cu yds mushroom compost and 9 cu yards horse manure. Now the manure was composting dark black steaming warm when I got it this week, there was alot visible saw dust. Should I add some nitrogen prior to tilling and planting the rye seed?
The rest of my soil test is all in the optimum range except phos-532lb/a. K 724lb/a. cu 22.8lb/a. zn 26.4 lbs/a. are in the very high range. I feel this should balance out over the winter. I was using Joel Hollands 0-52-30 (I think is the ratio) at the end of the season.
Thanks in advance for the feed back.

Tim, What size of patch do you have? I would at first glance have nothing to add. At 3k ppm of Ca you have plenty. You've taken care of the OM with enought there for 2000 sq.ft. 5.5 yards per patch. is plenty for this year. I would kick back and live off the fat of the Bacteria. They will release enough N back into the soil. This and a cover crop will do just fine next year.
