Here is my Soil sample report from 9/5/07...
pH 5.8 P(#/A) 4 K(#/A) 120 Mg(#/A) 140 Ca(#/A) 1240 Al(#/A) 218 Fe(#/A) 42 Mn(#/A) 28 Zn(#/A) 0.9 OM(%) 3.0 No3-N(#/A) 9 Salts(mmho/cm) 0.130 Salts(Kx100000) 13 Ex Acidity (ME/100g) 11 to date I have added: 2 yards of Composted Horse manure 2 yds composted Cow manure 120lbs calcilitic Lime 40 lbs Gypsum Numerous green grass clippings Waiting for leaves to really start falling and will be adding shredded maple leaves 2 dozen nightcrawlers
I really think I need to raise my phosphorus # and also my Calcium number? Should I apply more gypsum? what about adding 12-12-12 now and then again in the spring? Also thinking about plating a cover crop of winter wheat to raise my OM and get some extra N in the spring?
Any thoughts would really be appreciated and would help me sleep better:) I'm obsessed and really want a strong start this spring like everyone else.
thanks Bumkin Any amendment recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Bumkin

I figured 120lbs of lime in a 30x30 area might be enough to get me between 6.8 and 7 PH? going to do a early spring sample again to see? Thanks

Are these numbers before or after you added the amendments?
I don't think you can over do the horse/cow fertilizer and leaf compost.

Sorry if I confussed anyone. The soil sample was done a month ago(The information that I posted). I have listed what I have done so far to ammend the soil using the soil sample as a guide, trying to get a better reading in the spring?
