This is just hydrated lime (Ca(OH)2). Quicklime (CaO) that has been mixed (salked)in H2O. hydrated lime that reacts with CO2 will give you CaCO3 and H2O.
still dont know if i would put it on. for the cost of regular lime (CaCO3), I wouldn't use the patch as a test subject.

I have used it successfully to change soil Ph and if thats what you are trying to do go for it but only in conjunction with a soil test. Beware....it works fast. Don't use it if you only want to raise your calcium level!
