After cleaning a small oil spill on my driveway with some 100% bentonite clay kitty litter, I thought I'd have a look on google as to its benefits to soil as an additive or amendment. Found a great research study and document finding at http://www.dow.wau.nl/ssg/publ/Heijnen.htm
Thanks Russ for your advice earlier.

Glen, Good work here. As you found adding clay to certain sandy low CEC soils can be very beneficial. Most people don't understand the power of clay in our soils.

If you want to know more about clay give the words "REDMOND CLAY" to Google. It is sold by Fertrell in small quanities. Suggested to me was a tablespoon full in a gallon of spray mix. I also use a very small amount in my aerobic tea making.
