Prolly at least 4-6 feet+ (and put down walking boards, please) depending on if you have to have them near each other for limited space requirements (like back-to-back). ...As in a discussion a few months ago and I forget where, butt you could use the Search Window for 'spacing' (no apostrophes) or 'how far apart' and so on for further reading; As far as sideways? Center-to-center I'd say 25-30 feet, min. My main space is 32 feet wide in total. I, personally planted three within about 2 feet of each other so that I could have one sprinkler in the center with a 40-foot diameter if I wanted, but the plants' L-shaped growths make it kinda wasteful, so I only pressure it up to about a 15-foot circle. Hey, this just in, I don't think it's necessary to fertigate an entire plant! It seems that what the Goose gets, the Gander is happy with the leftovers, lol.
What I did with Field Pumpkin seeds for 'Direct Seeding' was this@:

Be advised that you do NOT want to *plant them and not protect nor do the cup thing for them;
They will dry out, be eaten by critters or be over-watered by pumpkinpa...
Uhhh, well, you get it, lol. I have not done this with AGs, butt I'll bet it works SUPERiorly, lol.
My old-fashioned way*, that I just mentioned, yielded like TWO sprouts out of like 24 seeds.
The 'official method'@? 95%-plus. Oh!
Well, good luck with any further replies---eric g
