First time grower, side vine pumpkin hit 10 DAP today.
I noticed this blemish on the side, appears to be an orange / brown in color. Feels dry to the touch, and just superficial. Is this something to worry about?

I plan to put down a better tarp, more sand, and uproot the main node and side nodes tomorrow when the weather is clearer. They aren't buried, but have rooted. No stem stress yet, still feels flexible. Am I at the stage where that will become the biggest hurdle to overcome?
I'm thinking of filling the noodle foam used to lift the nodes with dirt to keep the roots in tact. Would you advise against this? Is it best to cut it all off and leave the leaf?

Start a journal here... if it’s superficial, yer fine..maybe it got scratch on a leaf. But know that every little mark will be a big scar later on and we go to great lengths to protect them from any kind of injury. The rest of your ideas sound good...whatever it takes. Pumpkin/ vine positing becomes important starting now...hurdles to overcome will slow down in about 80-90 days....Good luck!! (Didn’t look at the pic)

Nice shape, that little ding hopefully gets much larger. It wont affect the pumpkins development at all.
