How long can a cucumber be left on the vine, and still grow?
I have a nice one about a foot long, and 2-3 inches wide, that is only ten days old, and wanted to know if it would be better to pick it now, and let a later one grown or let it grow even larger for a mid-September weighoff.
Also, how many fruits can a plant support at one time?

I grew one last year. Pulled it July 4 at around 30 days old. 14 pounds. Everything down here ripens faster though so 45 days is doable.

Marv would be the one to ask this question. Hear he's the resident cucumber expert.

Thank you for your quick replies.
I did cull the first one, 14 inches long, and a 9 inch circumference, it weighed 1 pound 10.3 ounces, and tasted pretty good.
I have another fruit that is 35 inches above the ground, so after reading the link sputter posted, I decided to go for that one, it opened this morning, so I hope it grows big. Hopefully it will last long enough, or I will get another fruit that will last long enough, for a mid-October weigh-off.
I Wil hopefully get a good one, as the seed I have is from a 17.5 LBer.
