I have gardened for years and have accumulated over 400 ft of soaker hose. I was wondering the main reason everyone suggests drip systems and not soaker and what I the disadvantages may be.

it doesn't water as evenly as drip and it clogs when running fertilizer and other goodies through it

High heat days followed by low humidity spells flatten the soaker hose causing water to flow unevenly.
