Need help with a foamy stump I am treating on my 1623 Wallace. I have had to cut out most of main trying to salvage plant. Stump began oozing last night and I have treated with hydrogen peroxide this morning. Plant has regrown almost aggressively on two secondaries offering a really nice female for pollination now about a week old. Please help, if possible. This year is really hot and wet and then cool. I have posted some new pics. Thanks for any help with this - I am just hoping to keep her to the end of the plots closing in October - fingers crossed!

Here's what works for me so far: scrape or cut out all rotted tissue; add peroxide(when it stops foaming, add more); liberally apply 90% powdered sulfur; put fan on affected area 24/7; keep dry and expose to sun all you can.
Others may have different methods that work for them.

The key, to me, was to dig a run off trough to get all moisture away quickly. The quicker you can get it dried out the better your chances for a better recovery. I have a piece of 1/4 inch plexiglass that I use to cover the whole area and fan.

Thanks all. I will work more on this after work tomorrow. I hope it is okay to do this, but I used straight peroxide. The foaming was really intense at first and then seemed a bit better when I checked later this evening. Trying to keep this plant together is hard, but I am amazed by the new regrowth and now, I actually have a fruit!
