I have a bad spot in my biggest pumpkin. Is there a certain amount of time I need to wait to harvest seed? Thanks.

If the pumpkin is over day 50 the seeds should be viable. If your bad spot is through to the cavity it will turn into a smelly mess in 5 to 7 days.

I just harvested seed from one that was about to go bad in a hurry. It was not going to last long, as the plant was slaughtered by vine bores, but I wanted the cross. It was only around 40 days but I got a haul of seeds out of it! I saw someone posted that you need at least 30 days. Good luck!
