My first pumpkin is now 16 days After Pollination, looks good and is growing like crazy.
A few days ago I cut off most of the main vine, because of a too-small growing area. I left maybe 16" near the pumpkin.
However, it is bumping into the pumpkin as it grows and I don't know what to do. It is thick and heavy and you can't move it aside.
Is it okay to cut this remainder of the main vine off?
Grazie!

If all you have is 16" beyond the pumpkin, go ahead and cut it off. Not much to lose. Several growers have gotten nice pumpkins with the vine terminated at the fruit.
