About the time two of my plants should have started setting on pumpkins, it seems like they have stopped growing. Vine is yellow at the end instead of green and the leaves have taken on a yellowish almost "brassy" hue. What happened? Thanks.

How do you post pics on here? Only thing I've sprayed was some Ortho flower, fruit, and vegetable insect killer but one plant was showing signs before I did that.

Do you have squash bugs Commonly refered to buy some as stink bugs around on plants prior or present?

See my diary for the pic, that is yellow vine. You can try and cut the vine off before it hits the rest of the plant but more than likely itZ terminal...Sorry. Spray the plant..and all plants...insecticide. The BronZe is a give a way...I would pull the plant if itZ stopped growing...

Thanks for the help, believe it's yellow vine as been suggested. looks just like brotherdave's pic. Haven't see any squash bugs, just a couple cucumbers which I got knocked out. You say to treat with insecticide, what causes this? Will this spread to the healthy plants? Most of the 2 infected ones look healthy, but will pull instead of trying to prune if I'm risking my remaining plants.

The disease is carried by squash bugs. All it takes is for one infected squash bug to bite your plant. In my experience once the plant has it, there is nothing you can do. I have thought I had beat it once through judiciously pruning off the affected sections of the plant. Leaving only the visibly healthy vines. Eventually the whole plant still fell to the disease.
To prevent the disease you want to do your best to keep squash bugs out of your plants. It seems random how it strikes. You could have two plants right next to each other, even growing together. One of the plants will get it the other may not. It is the worst problem I have seen sinceI have been growing AG's. In 2012 I lost 6 out of 7 plants to it. Since then it has been hit or miss, losing only a few here and there. Brother Dave is the resident expert on YVD he has it bad in his patch. He work's hard to pull of a crop each year. His diary's have some good ideas on managing the disease.

Many of ourZ hop over the berm from the community garden where low maintenance and squash bugZ thrive. Last year we lost a few plantZ...BiZ had one plant that struggled the last half of the season...he pruned and pruned..the pumpkin grew slow....but steady still..470 lbs. 1019 X 1386 Grande He got seedZ from it and grew it thiZ year... Now itZ his fastest grower...and I wonder about YVD resistance now... we shall see...

Resistance to yvd disease hmmmmm is there any in AGs if so I Need that seed Badly lol. I did chop my 625 plant up a bunch last season because it looked like yvd the pumpkin even stoped gaining in August. I did cut main off after pumkin and only left some old green vines that were questionable. I did get pumpkin to October Fest it went hevy

One of my plants has turned completely yellow over the last few days, i left the watwr on overnight on this plant full blast and think the problem is over watering.

One of my plants is completely infested with squash bugs and has no yellowing vine or leaves and the plant thats yellowing is clear of them.

Lol....... yup they always choose the healthy plants heAr as we'll. once they turn one plant bronze they are more attracted to other ones that are growing good.
